On Evolution... were there witnesses?

zz :
I have a good question for you
SimShalom :
for me , sure
zz:
what is the overall Jewish view on the human evolution theory?

SimShalom :
there is no "overall Jewish view" on anything hun
zz :
oh duh, stupid question...
SimShalom :
you have to be more specific than that is what I am saying
zz :
okay, the Orthodox view.... is there any general view??
SimShalom :
Most secular Jews, which is 90% of America's Jews PROBABLY "believe" in Evolution.
The orthodox view is that since no human beings were around at the time of creation OR Evolution, so NOBODY can be sure how exactly God created Humankind...but the narrative of Genesis is considered to be the starting point for the Beginning of ALL Creation, human and otherwise
zz :
see I'm very confused with all this, because I'm not one to ignore science... I mean, there are the neanderthals (spelling?) and those skeletons found of prehistoric people so I don't know what to believe
SimShalom :
In Orthodox Judaism, legally speaking, for something to be considered a FACT and hence the "TRUTH" , it MUST be witnessed by a MINIMUM of TWO God fearing Male Jews who are adult Sabbath observers
SimShalom :
And no one ever witnessed a baboon turn into a human EVER, so as they say, the jury is out, and as long as no-one can say they saw it with their own eyes it is just that a THEORY, a conjecture of how it may have happened.
By the way, let me ask you, do you think that scientists could prove evolution in a COURT of American law, not a lab, but a court, ...I would say the case would be very flimsy at best...to be a Jew you must learn happened think like a lawyer...
zz :
well it's hard for me, I'm an extremely open-minded person
SimShalom :
not just a scientist, but also like a lawyer and a judge
zz :
and of course it would not hold up in an American court, because it would be the evolutionists against the hardcore Christians
SimShalom :
well if you are so open-minded then you will also be open minded to Creationism, or does "open minded" mean only open to secular ideas?
zz :
no
zz :
it's just hard for me to accept simple one idea like this because I've been "scientific" my whole life
SimShalom :
Oh don't blame "hard core Christians" as if they were "hard core pornographers" (sorry), I mean in term as of pure science, the scientists would have to convince a Jury of (in this case billions of human beings) that we all come from tiny little cells, that there were dinosaurs,(which only "really" \"exist" in movies,) and that people came out of monkeys just that it took a "billion" years...just exactly what is a "billion" years in any case...
SimShalom:
anyhow you did ask..............................
zz :
but you can't deny dinosaurs exist... I don't think their bones just grew like a potato or something in the ground :P
zz :
*existed
zz :
but anyway, I have to go
SimShalom :
hun, just how many bones have they found? and how many of them were actual intact skelons? very very very... FEW...have a good night...see ya
zz :
ouch i so disagree with you
goodnight :)
