Oxford Professor Apologizes to Simshalom's Email

From: Andrew Wilkie
To: simshalom@att.net
Subject: Re: British Blind Spots at Oxford.
Date: Sun, 29 Jun 2003 10:48:53 +0100

I am deeply sorry for this and realise that I took the wrong action. In
addition an official apology has been issued by Oxford University and the
student's case will be taken forward.

I retract what I said, which was caused by too personal and emotional a
response to the terrible situation in Israel.

I hope you can forgive me.

Please pass this message on.

Yours sincerely

Andrew Wilkie

Simshalom's response to Oxford Professor's Anti-Israel Comments

Dear Friend of Israel,

I am also sending this letter to the nutty professors of Ox-ford and the world
who have serious 'Blind Spots' and 'Selective Vision' when it comes to the real
evils of Arab terrorism versus Israel's fight for its survival against the
hands of the hundreds of millions of Arabs that seek its destruction.

Thank you for the article.

It is sad, but it is not surprising.

Let us just remember and state for the record the facts of modern history:

The British were the ones who promised the Jews of the world a homeland of
their own in Palestine following the defeat of Islamic Turkey by British
military power during World War One.

The British were the ones who broke their promise to the Jews when they did not
give them the complete Palestine they had promised the Jews in the Balfour
Declaration of 1917.

The British were the ones who issued special decrees ('White Papers') to impose
quotas and keep Jews from escaping from the rising afflictions of Hitlerism and
German Nazism during the brutal 1930s.

The British were the ones who kept the doors of Palestine tightly sealed when
the Holocaust was in progress during World War Two, preventing millions of
Jewish refugees trapped by the Axis in Europe from aspiring to escape to their
beloved homeland in Palestine.

And the British were the ones who helped the Arabs and the Arab Legion of
TransJordan in particular attack and kill many innocent Jews in Jerusalem and
surrounding areas when Israel was granted its legitimate statehood by the
United Nations in 1947.

It is down-right silly and absurd for a British professor to cast aspersions on
Israelis when at the very present time it is British soldiers who are killing
Iraqis who dare resist the power of British bayonets and 'Tornado' jets in Iraq
TODAY! (In this case, as a Jew I concur and applaud the British stance against
the evils of Baathist Sadamism in Iraq which deserves to be punished for its
wars against Iran [in which millions were killed and maimed], Kurdistan [where
tens of thousands of innocent woman and children were poison-gassed to death] ,
Kuwait [which was invaded and raped by Iraq, having its wealth plundered and
citizens murdered], and Israel [which was the victim of Sadam's Scuds and the
support Iraq gave to anti-Semitic Arabic Palestinian terrorists
upon 'successful' suicide missions that claimed the lives of Israeli
civilians]. )

First let the British sort out their own 'backyard' ( maybe even in Ireland!).
Jews and Israelis needn't worry what any professor moral-dumb-bell, and his
besotted fanatical ultra-liberal friends may say.

As a friend of mine says, : "Contrary to popular belief, God is still running
this world". And God will not abandon the Jews the way the British did in the
past and seem to delight in doing so in the present.

Long live Jewish pride and the survival of Israel.

Blessed be the God of Israel !

Sincerely,
Sim Shalom.

RANK ANTI-SEMITISM AT OXFORD UNIVERISTY

Israeli Amit Duvshani applied to Oxford for a doctoral position. This is the reply that he received from Andrew Wilkie, Nuffield Professor of Pathology, Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine,The John Radcliffe, e-mail:awilkie@worf.molbiol.ox.ac.uk

I think that we should all, every one of us, send the good professor a message on his Facist tendencies and his disgusting Nazi-like tactics in dealing with Israelis (i.e. Jews) Israeli author, Naomi Ragen, wrote a letter to Professor Willkie which is posted below, after Wilkie’s response to Duvshani’s application to Oxford.

From: "Andrew Wilkie"
Dear Amit Duvshani,

Thank you for contacting me, but I don't think this would work. I have a huge problem with the way that the Israelis take the moral high ground from their appalling treatment in the Holocaust, and then inflict gross human rights abuses on the Palestinians because the (the Palestinians) wish to live in their own country.

I am sure that you are perfectly nice at a personal level, but no way would I take on somebody who had served in the Israeli army. As you may be aware, I am not the only UK scientist with these views but I'm sure you will find another suitable lab if you look around.

Yours sincerely, Andrew Wilkie

Naomi Ragen responds to Professor Wilkie

Dear Dr. Wilkie,

Ah the wonders of the internet. No longer can closet anti Semites ply their trade under the cover of darkness. Now the entire world knows who you are, as your disgusting bias in dealing with Amit Duvshani is now out there for all to see. The Jews have been living in the land of Israel for three thousand years. Indeed, as Disraeli pointed out, while your ancestors were still swinging from the trees, ours were priests in the Temple of Solomon.

You can accept or reject Mr. Duvshani on the basis of his academic qualifications. But to reject him on the basis of his qualifications as a human being because he served in the Israeli army and defended the Jews in their ancestral homeland shows me, an Israeli, a Jew, the author of six books, one play, and numerous articles that you Brits are still swinging from the trees in a Neanderthal morality that stinks of eras only lately ended.

For shame, Herr Professor. For shame Oxford.

Naomi Ragen

Another writer, Jack Englehard, wrote this email to Professor Wilkie:

Dr Wilkie -- Given the millions murdered by British soldiers throughout the centuries (India...Ireland...the whole British empire )...you must have a pretty empty classroom in context of your judgmental position regarding Amit Duvshani....

By the way, what Palestinian homeland might you be talking about since 99 percent of the middle east is occupied by Arab/Muslim countries...

Since you deny the Jewish people their 3,800 year-old God-given one percent, it is obvious that Intellectual Terrorism is alive and well at Oxford, throughout Britain, just as it was in Germany in the time of Hitler. High-minded German professors, as you know, were the first to backstab their Jewish students and fellow Jewish scholars. Thank God Einstein got out in time...though we'll never know how many other Einsteins (perhaps with the cure for cancer) never made it out of the death camps because they were doomed by their own university elite...thank you for your time...I am Jack Engelhard, novelist and internationally syndicated columnist.

The only response thus far from the Professor and Oxford Univeristy is as follows:

Press Release from Oxford University 27 June 2003

Comments by Professor Andrew Wilkie A spokesperson for the University of Oxford said:

"Our staff may hold strongly felt personal opinions. Freedom of expression is a fundamental tenet of University life, but under no circumstances are we prepared to accept or condone conduct that appears to, or does, discriminate against anyone on grounds of ethnicity or nationality, whether directly or indirectly. This candidate is entitled to submit an application and to have it dealt with fairly according to our normal criteria. Professor Wilkie has issued a personal apology regarding remarks he made by e mail to an applicant for a research degree at Oxford. An immediate and thorough investigation of this matter is now being carried out in accordance with the University¹s procedures and a report will be presented to the Vice-Chancellor next week."

Note to editors: The full text of Professor Wilkie¹s apology is:

"I recognise and apologise for any distress caused by my e mail of 23 June and the wholly inappropriate expression of my personal opinions in that document. I was not speaking on behalf of Oxford University or any of its constituent parts. I entirely accept the University of Oxford¹s Equal Opportunities and Race Equality policies."

Please note that he does not apologize for anti-Semitism but for his ‘inappropriate expression of my personal opinions..” In other words, “perhaps if I had phrased my anti-Semitism more diplomatically, it might not have been so offensive?” Not good enough, Mr. Professor.

Why do I include this in today’s report? Because anti-Semitism is evil and “…for evil to flourish it is only necessary that good men do nothing.” (Abraham Lincoln). Yes I would encourage you from whatever nation you hail, to protest this rank Anti-Semitism – because it’s morally wrong, let alone anti-biblical to the core. If Bible believers don’t speak up for what is morally and biblically right, who will?

The email is listed above as well as a fax number.
