I think that now comes a tough for Sharon to put together a government.
I imagine a guy only wins a QUARTER of the seats in parliament and he's called the "winner", but that's the Israeli system...

Labor is in a big mess.
They funny thing is that the children of old labor have now become the new "Shinui" party, the party that "stands for nothing" just hedonism and hate of the religious, after that party will come a party advocating changing Israel's name to 'Eastern Hollywood' or something like that, I mean anything is better than just "shinui" which means change, you just have to keep on "changing" according to their "theory"....only in Israel....

Imagine, a 'Change" party in England that would get 15 percent of parliamentary representatives saying, let's destroy the Anglicans. I don't think British labor goes that far, altho some people want to banish the monarchy, but the Anglican religion...

Israelis are convinced that they are somehow not connected to their "old" history. They think history started during the Warsaw Ghetto uprising and that Jews have only "really" existed" is "proud" Jews in Israel itself...they don't get their connection with everything that came before it, and that are connected to it whether they like it or not, so you can never escape your past,and "Shinui"(changing) your identity (might seem cool, like a new dress or suit) but it can't be done to your national and religious identity...

i sed this to this israelie secular jew in the pub. he was like im not jewish. im israeli. and i was saying to him that if he wasnt jewish then he probably wouldnt be israeli. and if his family werent jewish then they probably wouldnt be living in israel.! and also how at times of persecution and anti-semitism he cant escape his identity so you may aswell acept it and live with it even if you dont love it

But Israelis are basically "tone deaf" to those kind of arguments.
They just don't get it...they have been flooded with all this brainwashing that the "religious" are weak and stupid for being persecuted for so long, so they say forget about it, and let's just sing have nagila and eat hums and falafels (and shishkabab if you can afford it)
